History

Bandung College of Social Welfare (BCSW) was founded in 1964 as the improvement of High Level Social Vocational Course (KKST) according to the Minister of Social Affairs decree No. Pbs. 1-5-4 / 5980 dated December 20, 1964 to provide Complete Bachelor education.

The tem of KKST education was for two years, previously shaped as Classes A Social Service Course (KDSA) established in 1957 and the term of education for 1 (one) year.

Furthermore, based on the Decree of the Minister of Social Affairs No. PTS.1-1-22 / 1975 dated July 15, 1966 the implementation of complete Bachelor education upgraded to full undergraduate education with an undergraduate of Social Welfare.

In 1985 BCSW as well as organizing educational levels of S-1 also holds a Diploma-III level, then the level of DiplomaIV of Social Work started since the academic year 1989/1990 as regulated by the Minister of Social Affairs Decree No. 25 / HUK / 1991 on the Organization and Administration of Social Work Education Expert (PAPS) / of BCSW.

Based on the approval of the Director General of Higher Education Ministry of National Education 855 / D / T / 2000 dated 13 April 2000, STKS opened Community Social Development Studies Program and Social Rehabilitation.

The existence of BCSW strengthened by Presidential Decree No. 14 of 2001 dated January 18, 2001 on the Establishment of Bandung College of Social Welfare. As for the Organization and Work Procedure of BCSW confirmed by the Minister of Social Affairs Decree No. 08 of 2013, and the Regulation of the Minister of Social Affairs No. 51 / HUK / 2006 on the Statute of BCSW.

Additionally, based on the Letter of Approval of the Director General of Higher Education Ministry of National Education Decree No. 15 / D / T / 05 dated January 10, 2005, began the Academic Year 2006/2007 Bandung College of Social Welfare (BCSW) conducted Specialist-1 (Sp -1) of Social Work study program. The program includes two concentrations namely Clinical Social Work and Social Work Community.
Starting in 2015 two concentrations and specializations are integrated into six Study Program:

1. Social Work for children service
2. Poverty service social work
3. Medical service social work
4. Disaster service social work
5. Social work on Narcotics
6. Social work for People with Disabilities service
